Good News in the Gloom

On March 9, 2009, the closing market numbers were: TSX: 7566, DOW: 6547, and S&P 500: 676.

Local and national newscasters proclaimed "gloom and doom" and erasure of 12 years of gains in a little less than one year.  Then, just when things seemed to be going from bad to worse...something changed.

Since early March, all North American stock markets have recovered  from their bottoms as government stimulus initiatives begin to take hold.  At the time of writing these comments, the TSX has risen to: 9187, the DOW sits at: 8083 and the S&P 500 closed at: 856.
